Obese People Are More Sensitive to Serious Viral Infections
polyDNA recommends those with a weight problem consider using Gene-Eden-VIR to boost their immune system against latent viral infections.
Obese people have a higher risk of dying from viruses like H1N1 and swine flu. Therefore, people with obesity should seek protection against these viruses. For protection, people can use vaccines, antiviral medications such as Tamiflu, or natural, antiviral supplements such as Gene-Eden-VIR.
The study, published in the scientific journal, Clinical Infectious Diseases, has attracted lots of attention and highlighted the increased susceptibility of obese people to viral infection. The purpose of the study was to determine from the “2009 H1N1 infection … whether obesity (body mass index [BMI] ≥30) and extreme obesity (BMI ≥40) were an independent risk factor for death among case patients ≥ 20 years old.” (1) Analysis of the 534 adult patients in the study revealed stark truths:
“Half of Californians ≥20 years of age hospitalized with 2009 H1N1 infection were obese. Extreme obesity was associated with increased odds of death. Obese adults with 2009 H1N1 infection should be treated promptly and considered in prioritization of vaccine and antiviral medications during shortages.” (1)
The risk of death from H1N1 infection was shown to increase along with Body Mass Index (BMI). The study went on to state that “being obese (BMI greater than 30) or extremely obese (BMI greater than 45) was correlated with 200 or 300 percent increased risk of death from H1N1 virus, respectively.” (3) In addition, “analysis showed that those with BMIs of 45 or more had an even greater 4.2-fold increased odds of death from 2009 H1N1 influenza.” (2)
As we know, our immune system is responsible for protecting our bodies from viruses. The research points out clearly that the immune system in obese people tends to be weaker. Therefore, those with a weight problem need to strengthen their immune system, specifically against viruses.
There are three basic forms of protection against viruses: vaccines, antiviral medications, and antiviral health supplements. Examples of each of these include the HPV vaccine, Tamiflu, and Gene-Eden-VIR, respectively. The traditional thinking in healthcare has been that the young and old are the most vulnerable segments of the population for illness. The research above indicates that the obese are yet another vulnerable group. It also suggests that they should actively seek protection against viruses.
